WELCOME TO THE SOUTH COUNTY DEMOCRATIC CLUB'S WEB SITE
The mission of the South County Democratic Club (SCDC) is to EDUCATE, MOTIVATE and ACTIVATE the voters of Berrien County to work toward change in our government, beginning in Berrien County and ending with the Presidency of the United States.
About South County Democratic Club
South County Democratic Club was formed in early 2004 as a grassroots movement of concerned Democrats. You are welcome to attend our monthly meetings -- held at the Moose Lodge in downtown Buchanan, the second Monday of each month (social begins at 6:00 PM and the business meeting at 7:00 PM). Our meetings are free, although we do a "50/50 drawing" where you might share a cash pot of up to $99.00.
Our office is located at 501 North Red Bud Trail, Buchanan, Michigan. When in the Buchanan area, stop in and have a cup of coffee and chat. The office is open most weekdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
A PAC for the 78th District
South County Democratic Club is a chartered PAC under the Berrien County Democratic Party and the Michigan Democratic Party serving the 78th District, Michigan House of Representatives .
Generally, the 78th District is south Berrien County with a small section that crosses into western Cass County.
"South County" is a proud member of the Michigan Democratic Party and we help elect all Democratic candidates running in Michigan.
PLEDGE DRIVE
South County Democratic Club is dependent on the financial generosity of our friends and membership. Many of our members "pledge" a small monthly contribution of five to twenty dollars to keep our office open and running. All money raised is used to support our office – none of it is ever given to our members for “payment” for their services, mileage, or for other costs they might incur. We are a group of volunteers and everyone pays their own expenses.
An office open all year gives all Berrien County Democrats visibility. It shouts that we are Democrats and that we are here to stay. I think “being taken seriously” by our opponents is important.
Although financial contributions are important to politics, we respect those who are facing hard times. If you can't make a financial gift -- you are still welcome as a SCDC member. We have no membership dues -- we welcome everyone and pay our rent from the generosity of those who can give. We appreciate all gifts -- whether in time, talents or financial.
